When it comes to Medicare Advantage, the details matter, and having a local, independent broker who knows them inside and out makes all the difference. At H&H Insurance Solutions, Medicare is a focus of ours, and we have dedicated specialists who do this every day. No pressure, no jargon, no call center. Just real local people, right here in South Georgia, who take the time to understand your situation and get it right for you.
Scott Powell is our Small Group and Individual Sales Manager and has been working with Medicare for seven years, part of his more than 25 years in sales and management. He’s licensed in health and life insurance and stays active in the National Association of Health Underwriters, so he’s always current on new plans and strategies.
Taylor Peacock Bean (born and raised right here in Valdosta) is our Medicare Advantage Manager and has been working with Medicare for over five years. She’s appointed with multiple carriers and knows this community because she’s part of it.
Everyone here at H&H is dedicated to helping their clients find plans that genuinely fit their needs, answer all your questions, and walk through the fine print with you.
And right now is the season to put them to work!
Medicare open enrollment runs October 15 through December 7, 2026. This is the once-a-year window when anyone on Medicare can join a Medicare Advantage plan, switch plans, or move between Medicare Advantage and Original Medicare. Any change you make takes effect January 1, 2027.
There’s also a second, narrower window to know about: the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period, January 1 through March 31, 2027. That one is only for people already in a Medicare Advantage plan, and it allows one change if your first choice isn’t working out.
If Medicare Advantage is on your mind, the fall window is your best and broadest chance to make a move, so now is the time to talk with Scott or Taylor rather than wait.
You probably already have a sense of what Medicare Advantage is, an all in one alternative to Original Medicare offered through private insurers, often bundling your hospital, medical, and drug coverage together with extras like dental, vision, or hearing. What trips most people up isn’t the big picture. It’s the questions underneath it:
Will my doctors be in the plan’s network? Are my prescriptions covered, and what will they cost? How is this plan different from the one I have now, or from the one a friend recommended? What happens to my costs through the year? Is a Medicare Advantage plan even the right move for me, or am I better off with Original Medicare?
These are exactly the questions Scott and Taylor help people work through every day. The plans differ quite a bit from one to the next, with their own networks, rules, and costs, and a plan that’s perfect for your neighbor may not be right for you. Having a specialist compare the options against your doctors, your prescriptions, and your budget is the difference between guessing and choosing with confidence.
If you’ve been wondering whether Medicare Advantage is right for you in 2027, or you just have questions you’d like answered by someone you trust, this is the season to reach out. It costs nothing to review your options, and a short conversation with Scott or Taylor can bring real clarity before the deadline.
